A little bit of what's been going on

Well, I think it is time for a new post. So here are a few things that have happened sense I last posted.

Lets see...My family made up a new tradition. It's pretty lame and random.. But we had fun with it. Ok so we decided on the night of priestood session that we wanted to eat with chop sticks. We took that a little far.. And started getting out Daddy's robes... and then we wanted to sit on the floor with pillows as chairs. {we wanted to make it look all legit:)} It was the funniest thing..:). and I only could get one picture out of it! They were being stubbern and I only get one picture, and its not that good of a picture either! oh well.

Let's see.. I did get a hair cut!

On our way there!

Emily's new look:) Sorry it's sideways..
The Big plop of my hair. haha.

yay! glad to get that over with!

ok.. What else has been goin' on? I am working on a picture in Art. But you'll have to wait to see that.. Its not done yet:)
Well that's about it.. Wow. It's been boring around here..

Quote Book

I've completed it..

Well those of you that know me very well.. know that I have this obsession with quotes. And well I've got this book just stuffed with quotes and scriptures. It is one of my favorite possessions. Such awesome, inspiring quotes are just CRAMMED in there. Just reading it gives you spectacular feelings of joy... its true.
To give you an idea.. About half way through the book I counted over 500 quotes. (i got sick of counting after that.. )

(once again..) I've completed it.. every page is filled. It really is a special moment.. :) I just cant wait to go on to the next one..

Have you ever had a quote just hit you.. legit .. HIT.. well.. I've got a quote for you.. one that has that extra punch.. :

"Each of us will have our own Fridays—those days when the universe itself seems shattered and the shards of our world lie littered about us in pieces. We all will experience those broken times when it seems we can never be put together again. We will all have our Fridays. But I testify to you in the name of the One who conquered death—Sunday will come. In the darkness of our sorrow, Sunday will come. No matter our desperation, no matter our grief, Sunday will come. In this life or the next, Sunday will come." — Joseph B. Wirthlin

Just give that a bunch of thought.. I don't even have to explain it.. I think that your own interpretation will be of better use to you than mine.

I don't know what it is about this quote.. but It just hits the spot.

there are so many quotes just like this one in my Quote Book. Every single one of the quotes that I put in the little *Quote of the Day!* thing at the top of the right column are from my quote book. So if you just look at that once in awhile i hope you will get a little of inspiration.. :) .. And I'll try to keep changing it on a regular basis. so Enjoy those.. :)

"he's a big kid now" :)

Well.. Nathan is officially 2 years old.. The age of... well... distruction.. ha! But hey, you gotta love 'em. He is such a cutie.. :)

He's always willing to share.. Grandpa was so thrilled.
Superman Pjs .. a fav
Strapped in and ready to go.......
Maybe he should get used to the fact that you are infact supposed to stay upright.. ? .. haha.. He fell right when I took the picture.. 2 seconds before I took it he was sitting upright and smiling.. but then .. kerplunk. :)

Temple Day

School has OFFICIALLY started.. ! Crazy. Now, I only have 178 more days left. I've made it through two days and I've enjoyed my schedule so far. There's nothing too bad.
I think that the best thing about being back at school is that Temple Day Wednesday is back!
Every Wednesday a bunch of my friends go to the temple right after school.

I don't think that I have had more of a great experience than Temple Day. We go so often that the Wednesay temple workers know some of our names!

I love the great feelings of JOY that I feel there. And I'm sure that you all agree with me that the temple is the most wonderful, beautiful place to be. I want to even go more frequently than just Wednesdays!! It's just so amazing there. I feel like I have been so blessed from attending the temple and I plan to continue to do this for as long as I can! It's so peaceful. It is the highlight of my week.

Much Thanks to all of my Temple buds.. You guys are amazing! The example that you show to me is amazing. So thanks! I love you all!!

I challenge all of you to attend the temple more frequently. It has to be one of the greatest decisions you will ever make to just take that extra time out of your day to enjoy that peaceful, magnificent building. And you will feel the change in your day, and even your whole life.

Fantastic Splashes

Fantastic Splashes
Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas, isn’t a bargain destination — but it’s a treat for any aqua-addict who can reach its shores. The water park, named “Aquaventure,” offers visitors high–tech water entertainment, including numerous high-concept slides, rapids, a mile-long river ride and special effects. Thanks to people-moving innovations like water escalators, conveyors, water surges and “master blaster” technology, guests never have to leave the water. Shown is the six-story Mayan temple that houses five different slides, the most daring of which is “Leap of Faith,” a 60-foot near-vertical descent through a clear acrylic tunnel embedded within a shark lagoon.

I Saw that picture at Msn.com and I thought HOW AWESOME!! haha.. I dont know if I would have the guts to actually do it.. but it is just fun to look at :)
Would you Do it?? OR would you chicken out? I'd Chicken out.. Unless someone pushed me down.. haha.

True to the Faith

Recently I have been thinking and talking in Family home evening about Temptation. I feel as though I needed to say something on my blog on this topic.

My favorite place to look for guidance on Temptation is the the book True to the Faith. Under this topic I have almost everything underlined in red. I just want to mention a few things that stuck out to me.

"humble [yourself] before the Lord, and call on his holy name, and watch and pray continually, that [you] may not be tempted above that which [you] can bear" (Alma 13:28) Heavenly Father will not and does not want you to be 'tempted above that which [you] can bear'. He reaches for you and asks you to come before him.

Italicized lines under Temptation have great counsel for us to follow to stay away from temptation and Satan's influence:
'Center your life on the Savior.'
Build your foundation on your Savior, Jesus Christ. We must strive for that. Everything we do should be pointed strait to your Heavenly Father and His Son. What example are you setting?

'Pray for Strength'
Prayer is Strength. Heavenly Father is listening and he will lighten your burdens. "And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety and I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions." (Mosiah 24:14)Pray always and you will conquer.

'Study the scriptures daily'
Hold fast to the word of god. Isn't that what the iron rod represents? We must familiarize ourselves with the gospel. This will help us to strengthen our grip. I have to admit, this one is hard. But as you study the scriptures and apply them to your life, you will be blessed. "Whoso would hearken unto the word of God, and would hold fast unto it, they would never parish; neither could the temptations and the fiery darts of the adversary overpower them unto blindness, to lead them away to destruction" (1 Nephi 15:24)

'Fill your life with goodness'
For me, Happiness is key. 'Being happy doesn't mean every thing's perfect..it means you decide to see beyond the imperfections.' 'When you fill your life with goodness, you leave no room for nothing else.' Look for the JOY in life.

'Avoid tempting places and situations'
Temptation cant be avoided completely. Listen to the Holy Ghost. He will help you stay away from those places where you will be tempted. Don't Listen or Read media that will corrupt your mind. Stay clean and worthy.

'Strive to influence others for good.'
'As a latter-day disciple of Jesus Christ, you can be in the world but not "of the world."' Help others to live wholesome lives. You can be the good example. Be a good friend. 'Let your voice be heard in defense of moral values'

'Never hesitate in your decisions to withstand temptation.'
'Strive to follow the example of the Savior who "suffered temptations but gave no heed unto them" (D&C 20:22). Through your righteous thoughts, words, and actions, you can answer the temptations for the adversary with the same conviction.' "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you" (James 4:7-8)

I know that all of us, as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, can show and follow the light of Christ. We can choose good over evil. We can over come Satan and make this world a better place.

(Sorry for the huge post.. but I hope you will take it to heart.)

{I almost feel like i should say "in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.. " haha. }

Stay true to the Faith.
